Ideal Esprit Boiler Service in Grimsby DN32: Boiler had previously broken down with L2 fault code and condensate pipework was replaced.

Advised customer boiler would benefit from a full strip service and clean.

Diagnosis/Notes:
Previously condensate pipework had become blocked and was replaced. Follow up appointment performed full strip service and clean.

The burner gasket was in good condition and did not need replacing.

After completing the service, flue gas analysis readings were:
Carbon Monoxide : 94ppm
Carbon Dioxide : 8.8%
CO:CO^2 Ratio : 0.0011

All boiler safety devices tested good.

Additional Comments

Follow up boiler service in Grimsby (DN32). This boiler service was scheduled preventative maintenance. After cleaning, boiler was tested and appears in good operational order. Flue gas analysis passed and all safety devices tested good. Advised customer is moving into the age bracket where the boiler would benefit from regular scheduled maintenance.

Modern combi boilers are highly efficient, but once they reach around 3 years old, they do require maintenance to stay reliable. This is the exact reason most manufacturer insist on an annual boiler service to maintain their warranty.

Even expensive boilers with 10+ year warranties, if the boiler breaks down in year 3 and the boiler doesn't have a complete maintenance record, the warranty becomes void / you'll have to fund the repair or a replacement boiler.
