1. Estimates and Fixed Quotes
-
Estimates: An estimate is an approximation of the likely cost of the works, based on a visual inspection. It is subject to revision if unforeseen complications, hidden faults, or required upgrades are discovered during the execution of the work.
-
Quotes: A quote is a fixed price for clearly defined works. Any additional works requested outside the original scope will be charged at our standard hourly rate or quoted separately.
2. Rates, Call-Outs, and Cancellations
-
Once our engineer has attended a property, a minimum charge of one hour at our standard call-out rate applies, regardless of the time spent on site.
-
Emergency call-outs cancelled after an engineer has been dispatched will remain chargeable at the standard emergency call-out rate.
3. Payment Terms and Late Fees
-
All invoices are strictly due within 14 days of the invoice date.
-
Invoices remaining unpaid after 14 days will be subject to an immediate £25.00 late payment surcharge.
-
Accounts remaining unpaid after 28 days will incur further administrative charges calculated at £50.00 per hour for all time spent attempting recovery.
-
We reserve the right to pass severely overdue accounts to a third-party debt collection agency. The client will be liable for all additional fees, legal costs, and agency charges incurred during this process.
4. Access, Clearance, and Preparation
-
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure clear, safe, and uninterrupted access to the work area, including lifting carpets, moving furniture, and clearing valuables.
-
If our engineer is required to clear a workspace to operate safely, this time will be charged at our standard hourly rate.
5. The Working Process and Incidental Damage
-
Plumbing and heating engineering inherently involves working with water, pressurized systems, and residual debris. While every reasonable precaution is taken, it is an accepted risk of these works that minor, unavoidable fluid release (such as residual water from cut pipes, airlocks, or system sludge/magnetite) may occur.
-
We accept no liability for incidental damage to floor coverings, decorations, or ceilings resulting from these standard working processes, provided reasonable care and skill were exercised.
6. System Testing, Commissioning, and Handover
-
Pressure testing and system commissioning are mandatory procedures required to ensure safety and integrity before a job is signed off.
-
We accept no liability for damage caused by leaks or joint failures that are discovered during the active testing and commissioning phase of new pipework or fittings, provided the installation processes adhered to standard industry practices.
-
Liability for faulty workmanship only applies to works that have been officially completed, tested, and signed off by our engineer.
7. Pre-existing System Integrity
-
We hold no liability for the failure, leaking, or shearing of existing pipework, valves, or components that degrade or fail during necessary pressurisation, draining, or testing procedures due to age, poor prior installation, or lack of maintenance.
