Performing a chemical flush is the standard approach, ideal for systems that are only lightly contaminated or are being prepped for a new boiler installation where the existing pipework is relatively clean.
How it works:
We dose your heating circuit with a heavy-duty chemical cleaner and bring the system up to temperature. The heat and chemicals break down the light sludge and scale over a set period. We then drain the entire system, flush it through with clean mains water until it runs clear, and get it back online.
Option 2: The Magnacleanse Treatment
If your system is heavily loaded with thick, black magnetite (the iron oxide that rusts off the inside of your radiators), a standard chemical drain-down won’t cut it. Your central heating system needs a Magnacleanse flush.
How it works:
We connect a powerful external magnetic filtration unit directly into your heating circuit. We dose the system with an aggressive chemical cleanser and run the boiler. As the water circulates, we mechanically agitate every single radiator with a specialised tool to lift the stubborn sludge.
The Advantage:
Instead of just dumping water down the drain and hoping the heavy sludge goes with it, the Magnacleanse actively strips the magnetic iron particles out of the water as it circulates. It removes significantly more magnetite than a basic flush, saving your boiler from microscopic abrasive wear and restoring full heat output to your radiators.
The Final Step: Inhibitor Protection.
Whichever flushing option your system requires, we never leave it unprotected. Once the central heating circuit is completely clean, we dose the fresh water with a high-quality chemical inhibitor. This coats the internal metals and stops the chemical reaction that creates magnetite in the first place, ensuring your system stays clean and efficient for years.
