Customer said no heating or hot water. No further information.

Fault Code: Flame Loss

Diagnosis/Notes:
Immediately noticed boiler cover had cracked. The Ideal Logic is a "room sealed" combi boiler, which gets it's oxygen / expels combustion gases from outside. Separately from the main fault of **no heating or hot water**, this boiler will also require a new front case cover.

## Main Diagnosis
Boiler was starting briefly before cutting off.
Flue in good condition.
Flame detection electrode and harness tested good.
Gas inlet pressure OK.
24Vdc available at the gas valve.
Spark electrode and wiring harness good.
Siphon and pipework clear.
Tested gas valve motor with multi-meter and measured internal resistance high.

Resolution

• Outcome: Boiler is safe to use.
• Parts Replaced: Gas Valve, Boiler Front Case Cover

Additional Comments

Unsure what happened to boiler case crack. The crack itself showed signs of atmospheric dirt (e.g. grease from cooking + dust), so suspect it's been like this for quite a while.

Sometime the gas valve stepper motor copper winding's can become damaged or burnt out over thousands of cycles during the components life span.

This boiler required a replacement gas valve and new front case cover. Boiler was tested upon competition and everything working satisfactorily. Customer was issued a repair gas certificate upon completion.
