How to diagnose Ideal Vogue boiler ignition lockout faults.

Ideal Vogue Boiler Ignition Lockout Diagnostic Procedure
1.) When the boiler is restarted, does it reignited for a short period before extinguishing?
- Yes → Check detection electrode and harness for soundness. Check if condensate pipe is blocked.
- No → Proceed to Step 2.
2.) Is the gas pressure at the boiler >18mBar?
- Yes → Proceed to Step 3.
- No → Check gas supply and rectify fault.
3.) Is 24Vdc available at the gas valve during ignition?
- Yes → Proceed to Step 4.
- No → Check gas valve wiring and replace if necessary. Otherwise replace PCB.
4.) Unplug the gas valve, is the resistance between the pins between 1kΩ and 10kΩ?
- Yes → Proceed to Step 5
- No → Replace gas valve. Restart the boiler
5.) Check spark generator & associate harness for soundness. Are they functioning OK?
- Yes → Proceed to Step 6.
- No → Replace spark generator and/or harness. Restart the boiler
6.) Check ignition electrode & associate harness for soundness. Are they functioning OK?
- Yes → Proceed to Step 7.
- No → Replace ignition electrode and/or harness. Restart the boiler
7.) Check Siphon and condensate drain pipework for blockage and rectify if necessary.
- Yes → Boiler should be working. If the fault persists, contact ideal tech support for further guidance.
- No → Replace gas valve. Restart the boiler
